What to do with my poofy straight hair?

I have straight, poofy, dry hair that never behaves.

I've tried growing it out, and it just gets really poofy and in the way. Styling it is really not an option because it doesn't behave at all. When i cut it short, on the other hand, many of the hairs stick straight up. It probably sticks up because i let it air dry, but i dont want to blow dry my hair...

I use Pantene Pro-V 2 in 1, and it doesn't seem to help much.

Here are some pictures of what it currently looks like.

What should i use on my hair, and how should i cut it?

try a shorter hairstyle. get a military style fade. the hairs should stick up with that style.

Check up AVON coz they have lot of advanced techniques for hair-styling and also moisturisers which could possibly help you best. See their new catalogue listed here and set up a date with a professional advisor or shop online at www.avon.com. it will also cost you less.

if you want it to grow long, let it, but use a leave-in conditioner and a spray gel. that will get it to behave.

If it curls, then it will make it curl properly and not "poof" like it tends to.

use TRESemme clean hold gel

it stops all those flyaways and keeps your hair looking nice. (not greasy =D)

I'm looking at your hair and it looks as if your hair is fine but you have a lot of it. This kind of hair tends to stick up very easily, and believe it or not this is one of the most difficult types of hair to work with. If you don't have a good cut every little mistake will show. You can wear this hair very long or very short, but in between will just be awkward. No matter what you do follow with a good professional hair products. American Crew, a haircare line especially for men, have a few good products. If you like a bit of shine, you can use the pomade. If you like a more matte look, the forming cream is great too. You don't need a lot, and a little goes a long way. First you put about a dime size to your hands and emulsify. You will apply these to the hair when it is just a bout dry. This will help give you lift, body, or texture, depending on what your going for. Considering it is summer you could do a clipper cut, maybe a #3 or #4 on the sides and back, depending on how short you would like, scissor cut on top. I personally like the messy look. Whatever your personally style you must try one of these products. They will give you amazing results! Good Luck!

A little bit of gel like brylcream (smells good) or that hollywood funky colored stuff--it works well, too. That will help control it. Personally, I don't think the cut's too bad. My son (17) has hair like that. He let his bangs grow out and brushes it off to the side. And he found a stylist who knows that you don't cut it too short at the crown or it's going to stick straight up. And a generous dollop of gel...he's ready to go.
