People just told me that if I straighten my naturally straight hair, it will burn and fry off. is that true. I was thinking about getting a straightener, but now i'm sccared that I will burn my hair off. Help!

I must agree with others in asking why you would waste money on buying a straightener that you don't need?
But no, whoever told you that was either ignorant or pulling your leg. While it is possible to burn your hair with a straightenter, this isn't affected by what type of hair you have (straight, curly...)
Just don't put the straightener on a super hot setting and then hold it there for a while. There are few smells worse than burning hair.
If you do smell burning hair while straightening, don't panic. Just put the straightener down, your hair probably won't be damaged unless you keep it on.

umm no if u ahve a really hot hair straightner and u use it like everyday it will dry urhair out and cause split ends.

No it will not burn your hair, although I would not recommend keeping the straightener on for a long time. All you need to do is start at a warm level and see how it works. If it doesn't, than go hotter and hotter until it works for you.

There's no reason to straighten your hair if it is already super straight. I don't think it will fall off but you will certainly do some damage and get absolutely nothing good out of it.

Hi I'm a cosmotolgist and no you don't have to worry about burning your hair because it's straight. It actually helps it if you use an oil such ad the Chi silk infusion. When straighting your hair you always want to use some product. The best straightner to use on your hair are the ceramic ones preferably the Chi. they sell them at most hair salons. They are expensive but the are an investment. They are less likely to damage your hair. The only way you can reaaly damage your hair is if you don't use products and go over sections over and over agian. But agian you really need to use product, another thing that could cause damage is if you have previously highlighter your hair you really need to becareful on how many times you go over the sections and how brittle your hair is. if your hair is highlighted you really don't want to straighten it every day but if you feel like you need to make sure you use a deep conditioner once a week. You won't have to use it everyday because believe it or not you can over condition it and make it to soft which is also damaging. But I hope this information helps you but you should not have anything to worry about. Speaking from self experiance because I straighten my naturally straight hair almost everyday. And I still have a head full of healthy hair. lol
