You can plaster it down tight to you head and it will look straight (straight and strange..) but as soon as comb it...and at some point your're going to need to do that...the wave will come back. so what if you decided to use the wave to your advantage. Girls think boys "curly" hair is way sexy. Put the gel or whatever on your hair and scrunch it..pick through it.. and then let it semi dry and run your fingers through it. Just might be the next Brad Pitt.....hmmmm

First, you need to see what shampoos you have. They might be over-drying your hair, which can lead to frizzyness.

Next, humidity might be it. You might need a serum or other protecting oil/conditioner/ect for your hair..

Also be sure to brush it out very well, and even, if it's long, when you go to sleep at night, braid it into one long but soft braid, so that it doesn't crinkle and go everywhere and look crazy the next morning.

If all else fails, do what I do-

Take baby oil, and soak your hair in it for about 15-20 minutes each night, then gently rinse it out and then soak in conditioner, then rinse that out gently too.

Lack of moisture is one of the biggest causes of frizzy hair.

And, another thing- check your hair dryer.. If you use a seriously hot setting, it might actually be slowly roasting your hair, and causing the frizz.

Ehh, well, that's about all I can think of..

there are a billion products out there to control frizz, but you don't really need them. People tend to overlook the reasons that make their hair frizzy. Static and moisture. If your hair is dry, or the air around you is humid, then your hair will "reach out" for it, causing frizz. The best thing to do is use a really good conditioner before straightening your hair, or put on a leave in conditioner right before straightening it. Any extra moisture you can get into your hair will help make your hair a lot less frizzy.

Before you go to bed, make sure you put something on your hair, that way when you wake up in the morning it will be moist and straight. However, it can't be perfectly straight, but you will get no nods for sure. Devide your hair in two pieces and braid your hair. If you don't know how to here's a link on how to:

Once you do that you can move as much as you want around your bed, make sure is nice and tight. And when you wake up Tadda! beautiful hair in the morning! Braiding adds a gorgeous curve to your hair, it can either stay waivy or brush it a bit and it will remain completely straight!

First of all i have mid- length hair to. When wet if you have bangs pen them back with a couple of bobby pens. I find this a good way to keep my bangs trained and straight for the morning. To keep the rest of your hair straight put your hair in a loose scrunche. The loose scrunches will be comfy while sleeping and not leave a line in your hair. Do not pulled your hair back with an elastic rubber band, because the rubber band will leave a crease in your hair that will be hard to straighten in the morning. By doing these simple tricks it usually helps my hair to be easier to fix in the morning.

I'm biracial so I have a mixture of textures in my hair. Personally, I couldn't careless about my hair... but everyone is telling me to get it straightened, blah blah. Why are people in this country so obsessed with straight hair? My hair looks perfectly fine that way that it is, but in America, it's ugly. I'm not talking about just curls, I'm talking about big hair that most biracial kids have. And it offends me when someone of another race says that biracials/I have kinky hair or whatever, our hair is not kinky.

They don't understand that the curls in some parts can be tighter or coarser than in others, and they treat it like plain old straight hair. But people in general seem to love the idea of curls, especially the kind that biracial people have. Maybe the reason they keep telling you to straighten it is because it's a little wild and frizzy? A good moisturizing conditioner and a leave-in treatment might be what you need (L'Occitane's Angelica Shampoo and Conditioner both work really well for my hair, Carol's Daughter products are good for styling). If that's not the problem, just ignore them. And either find a trusted stylist, or learn to cut your own hair (it can be done), because split ends make curls look and feel terrible.

No way, there's nothing wrong with not having straight hair!! In Hawaii, we KNOW "biracial." The thing is that everyone here is of a mixed race, so its just natural and normal that some people have more than curly/bushy whatever hair.

Don't let it get to you! Your hair fine the way it is, you could just flatiron it every day...it won't keep it permanently straightened like a salon straightened and it won't stay completely flat. So it's kind of like a hair compromise?

I have curly(ish) hair too and when i use GHD's it does go pretty much straight if i do it for a while. You should use a product on it before/after you've straightened it to keep it in place and to stop it going frizzy (thats what i do with my hair) and it seems to work quite well. Alternatively you could get it chemically straightened (but this is expensive) or straightened at a salon/hairdresser's as they are professionals so it will look very straight

Okay, do NOT get it relaxed at a Salon. People don't always know what they're doing, like in my case they burned some of my hair. SO therefore this is what you should do it works good. Firstly grab a small section of hair and twist it round your finger, hold on to the twist and place it in the straightening iron and hold for about 40-60 seconds. release the curl and then repeat with another section! to give your hair a bit more staying power spray a light mist of hairspray on after!

I get the chemical straightening. I had very wavy hair, and I always had my hair long. This would play bad tricks and look a mess most of the time. The only thing that worked for me was the chemical straightening, and since the hair is actually easier to handle now(no need for the blow drying, ironing, products, etc...) my hair has actually become healthier since(I do use a leave-in conditioner too). It seems to last for at least 1-3 months, and by then it's time to get the hair cut anyway.

I actually use a straightner on my hair, It does seem to fry it up, But if thats the way you will be wearing it all the time, Then dont worry about it. Here is some tips to help you out.

-Blow dry your hair inward with a circle brush while you are drying your hair.

-Use plenty of conditioner when washing your hair.

-Find a spray/shampoo/etc thats works best on your hair.

(I use herbal ess. dangerously straight 2 in 1)

But it is really hard to get those little side hair and back hair without a straightener.

As well I got my hair "razor cut" it helped alot, and my hair is much thinner than it was.

i had the same probleeem....my hair goes all the way to my butt..its pretty long..straightening it with a hair straightner did no good...i got the japanese style straightening which only cost $250 and my hair is as straight as when i sit there for 5 hours with a flat iron only it doenst get poofy when its humid or curl up again...its worth it and its not as damaging. its once every 9 months or so because your hair will grow out from the roots and your natural hair will show at your roots but the rest of it wont go back..it will be like that from then on..the chemical doesnt wear off...if you need more info let me know and ill tell you...

What city do you live in? Sometimes, these trends can be provincial, due to homogonized thinking in hair salons.

In my city, San Francisco CA, there is no epidemic of straight hair that I know of. In fact, to see straight hair in the city is a little last century.

they wanna be just alike....when i was a kid they all wanted perms around their shoulders...i wanted that too but i had long hair...now my hair looks like i got a perm today which sucks cause i cant keep the curls or frizz out of it...so i dont bother its way to much work to try to straighten it

didnt this trend started like almost 5 years ago?? when rebonding technique came out.. for me, i have been rebonding my hair almost on an annual basis, bcos my original hair is frizzy and has alot of fly away hairs, making me look very untidy.

buy some really good hair curlers and when you curl it go for the messy haired look.

just curl the hair (curl the top and leave the under hair staight) then use extra strong good quality hair spray to mess it up abit and to hold it.

oh and buy shampoo which is specially designed for thin, limp hair.

I have thin hair also mines because I have lupus and I lose my hair. I have layers, I have always had layers and my hair looks fine. It just depends on teh ayers she gets, when you cut layers in yoru hair its does make it thinner because not al of your hair is the same length, she just needs to finad a hairdresser that can advise her on what layers will be best for her

The worst possible thing she could do is get layers, layers will only make her hair look thinner. A good option is to use a volumizing shampoo and no conditioner. There are some great gels like Clean Lift by Redken that work great. You should only use a small amount on towel dried hair, add about a dime size to your palms and rub your hands together and then rub int the roots of the hair only. blow dry upside down using your hands only until the hair is almost completely dry then style with a brush.

How to curl!

1.Wash your hair and condition.

2.Lightly towel dry your hair.

3.Blowdry your hair without touching your hair with your:fingers, blowdryer, brush etc.(it reduces natural curl u might have)

4.Apply a dollop of mouse to your hair All over.

5.Putt hot rollers in your hair starting at the top of your head! Use the entire set equally among your hair.

6.Let the hot rollers sit in your hair for 30 minutes.

7.Spritz with hairspray before you take them out.

8.Let HIarspray dry.

9.Take out rollers.

10.Turn your head face down and shake your head fiercely.

11.Enjoy!

shampoo hair using the cheapest shampoo you can find (dollar store shampoo for oily hair) nothing with conditioners or for dry hair. rinse WELL. do not use conditioner. blow dry about 3/4 dry. apply a setting lotion spray or use 'working' hairspray. Thermal protection is CRUCIAL so you wont have to deal with burnt or dried up hair later.
